Fitness: Walk for a cause
Light the Night walk
Join us at the Cbsi tent for for food, fun and live entertainment.
Light the Night is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s nationwide evening fundraising walk to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer. Participants raise funds for the ongoing work of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Participants walk along a two to three mile route, carrying illuminated balloons – white for survivors, red for supporters and gold for those who have lost loved ones to blood cancer.
In 2007, more than 8,000 people participated in 1 of 6 Illinois Light The Night Walks. Corporate and friend/family teams joined with many of the area’s most prominent companies to raise funds to support blood cancer research and benefit patient aid. The walk raised more than $39 million nationally for research and patient services.
